Alternative Visions has had the pleasure of participating in several community events throughout the years. We were able to participate in a cut-a-thon to raise money for the children of Albania. Students did manicures & haircuts for the “Dearly Loved Banquet” which helped the homeless of Cleveland & updo’s and makeup for “Rescue Prom” to help students after the tornadoes.
Teen Challenge is an organization that we have been volunteering for over 14 years. We offer haircuts once a month to the students going through the Teen Challenge Program. Alternative Visions Director of Education and Lead Senior Instructor, Jean Sutherland was honored with Volunteer of the Year 2012.
For over 10 years, Alternative Visions has participated with other businesses in “Project Esther” hosted by Abba’s House in Hixson, TN. This program helps better the lives of abused & homeless women and children of Chattanooga.
We have been able to help cancer survivors purchase wigs and scarves while going through chemo with our “Angel Hair Challenge”. Students participate in a runway competition by doing hair and makeup on models. This event raises money for a great cause and showcases our talented students at the same time.
